The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce presented Pitt Technology Group founder Doug Pitt with the Springfieldian Award, the city’s highest honor for community service and professional excellence. Pitt, co-owner of Pitt Technology Group and Pitt Development Group, LLC, was recognized for over 30 years of dedication to his hometown.

He was also recognized for his extensive work as the founder of Care to Learn, a nonprofit that has addressed millions of health, hunger, and hygiene needs for students since 2007. His philanthropic influence also extends globally through his work providing clean water in Africa and serving as a Goodwill Ambassador for Tanzania.

During the award ceremony, Pitt was praised for his unique ability to merge business success with humanitarian outreach. Recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement in Business award as well, Pitt’s selection as the 2026 Springfieldian solidifies his legacy as a transformative leader committed to improving lives both locally and abroad.
